The best smartphone Motorola currently has to offer is the RAZR HD Maxx. Unfortunately, it was announced online that the phone will most likely not be sold in Australia due to incompatibilities with the mobile phone frequencies which Australian carriers use. This comes as a real blow to Motorola fans in Australia who were hoping they would be able to purchase a solid rival to the other leading smartphones like the Samsung GALAXY S3 4G.
Google Inc Acquisition

Google Inc announced on August 15, 2011 that it had agreed to acquire the company and their considerable number of patents for over US$12 billion dollars. This merger was finalised on May 22, 2012.
Google's Chief Executive Officer, Larry Page, stated on a Google blog that the move was made to stregthen their portfolio of patents and further assist with the growth and popularity of the Android smartphone operating system.
This rapid addition of patents comes after a series of patent battles where Android phone manufacturers Samsung, HTC and Motorola are being sued for alleged infringement of patents from rivals including Apple and Microsoft.
