Todd Foot is the First Person to Buy an iPhone 5
Popular online media source MobilePhoneFinder sent one of their staff to brave the wind, rain and construction happening on George Street in Sydney. That is the location for Apple’s flagship store where the new iPhone 5 went on sale 21st September of this year. Todd Foot was lucky enough to be the first in line and the first to purchase the new phone, and in doing so became an International celebrity of sorts.
Media crews with their cameras and mics have come and gone, passersby have snapped photos on their phones and put them up on Twitter and Instagram, and a few friendly faces have stopped to chat and take a photo with the latest local celeb: Aussie Todd.
From Sydney, Aussie Todd Foot was fortunate enough to secure the first iPhone 5 spot in front of Apple's flagship store located on George St Sydney. From approx midday Tuesday, Todd took to the streets from his cozy office to face the jungle world of the CBD's hustle and bustle.
From by-passers to media reporters many were happy to meet and greet Todd from mobilephonefinder.com.au to share a quick chat or even a snapshot.

Aussie Todd
The line of campers at the Apple store on George Street has been patiently waiting for over three days for the release of the iPhone 5. This morning, the doors were pushed back and the hundreds of Apple fans in line surged in to get their hands on Apple’s latest product. First among them was Aussie Todd.
Todd Foot set up camp on Tuesday and has been occupying the first spot in line since. Supplied by MobilePhoneFinder.com.au - food, drink, coffee - and the Apple store too, - wifi, bathroom access and power outlets - Todd’s wait has been a fun and exciting affair. Passer-bys and other Apple fans stopped by for a chat and the conversation on Twitter @mobilephone_au was wonderful. We even connected with some of our overseas brethren in the global Apple queue, sharing in the Apple love on a universal scale.
Todd was the first person to enter the Apple store
The Australian media has been very supportive, featuring Todd on the 7PM Project and in the Daily Telegraph to name a few. Everyone wants to ask Todd about MobilePhoneFinder.com.au - and why wouldn’t they? We’ve been trying to teach people about the need to save money by comparing their mobile phones and phone plans before they buy.
In a recent survey, MobilePhoneFinder.com.au found that a shocking amount of people, over 70%, haven’t used a comparison website to research their mobile phone purchases. Even the people waiting in line had only ever compared the iPhone 5 to a select few other handsets. MobilePhoneFinder.com.au allows consumers to save money by comparing plans and phones, even if that means camping out in the cold and the rain. To ensure that everyone who bought the iPhone 5 gets the best deal possible, compare plans here.
The iPhone 5 that Todd secured was given away in a competition held by MobilePhoneFinder. After waiting in the cold and rain for three days, poor Todd doesn’t even get to keep the first iPhone 5 sold at the iconic Apple store on George Street.
Still, Todd is sure to be quite proud of his shining moment in the spotlight. After braving the elements for 66 straight hours, he got his photo passed around on Twitter and Instagram and even made an International major news source. The first man to buy the iPhone 5 in the world. That’s quite an honour, indeed.
The newest iPhone is now on sale. With a four inch screen, a processor that is twice as fast as its predecessor and a thinner chassis that feels as light as air in the palm of your hand, it’s no wonder why Todd and the others waited in line so long. And now, with the iPad Mini set to release later this month, we can only wonder who will be the first in line to secure Apple’s newest mobile wonder. Will Todd brave the wind and rain once more or will MobilePhoneFinder send another dedicated staff member who is brave enough to wait in a queue for three whole days?
